The Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency has taken strong exception to some comments made by the Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jonathan Abdallah Salifu.
It would be recalled that in a recent interview on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show in the disruption of feeding of students of the Binduri Community Day Senior High School, Mr. Abdallah-Salifu suggested that the Member of Parliament had no interest in the feeding of the students. More importantly, the Regional Communication of the NDC added that the MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Abdulai Abanga, had no interest in the welfare of the school, its management or students. He claimed that since Mr. Abanga assumed office as MP, he had not even visited the school.
“He hasn’t even stepped foot there. I am telling you this,” he insisted.
But in response to the earlier comments, the MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Abdulai Abanga, has restated his interest in the welfare of the school, its students and management.
The MP additionally recalled a letter he had written seeking the construction of a boarding facility for the Community Day School. Mr. Abanga mentioned that as a representative of the people, he had raised questions on the floor of Parliament concerning the state of the school.
Mr. Abanga disclosed that after being made aware of the situation, he donated 25 bags of rice to the school. Again with his direct intervention, arrears were paid to the caterer who thus began cooking for the students Friday, July 15, 2023.
