The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Talensi constituency has elected Robert Ayinenaba Alibo as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the upcoming 2024 general election. Mr. Alibo contested against the current District Chief Executive (DCE), Thomas Duanab Wuni Pearson, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Northern Development Authority, Williams Zoogah.

At the end of Saturday’s election, Robert Alibo emerged as the winner with 235 votes, while Thomas Duanab Wuni garnered 196 votes, and the Deputy CEO of NDA, Mr. Zoogah, managed to secure 82 votes.

In his victory speech, Mr. Alibo expressed his belief that his competence, credibility, and the truth he conveyed to all the delegates instilled trust in him, leading to his resounding victory.

“I want to give tribute to the many young men and women of our party who saw hope in Alibo and established themselves in it to bring Alibo this far; they deserve praises. This time around, we basically packaged a message. A message of truth, and you know truth lasts longer; truth stands, and if you counter truth with lies, lies get discovered in no time.”

Describing himself as humble, committed, and a grassroots person in the constituency, Mr. Alibo expressed confidence in his chances to lead the people of the Talensi constituency to parliament.

Meanwhile, both the DCE, Mr. Duanab, and the Deputy NDC CEO, Mr. Zoogah, stated that they are not disappointed with the outcome of the election. According to them, they respect the decision of the delegates and are ready to continue working hard for the party’s victory in the 2024 general election.

  1. Still the Hon DCE Thomas Duanab Wuni still and would have been the best candidate to match the ndc come 2024 general elections

Looking at his performance when given the DCE position he performed trimendeously well and even in his previous contest with BT baba was a very hard contest for the NDC

Mr Alibo campaign was full of propaganda, insults and name calling just to win
