MyNHIS is a new app that seeks to provide a mechanism for the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) to fulfill its statutory obligations by improving new experiences for NHIS members, saving them time and money.

During a health walk within the Bolgatanga Township to educate residents on the benefits and usage of the application, Shei Fuseini, the Upper East Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Manager of NHIA, stated that the app helps citizens access all NHIS services without physically visiting various offices across the country.

Mr. Fuseini mentioned that, leveraging the digitalization drive in the country, the authority, as part of its 20th-anniversary celebration, deems it necessary to sensitize Bolgatanga residents about the app.

“We want the general public to avoid the physical presence of our offices across the country. So based on that, we are taking advantage of the digitalized system now put in place in the country so that the public can benefit from it. So we are taking that advantage to educate the general public about the MyNHIS App.”

The walk covered Bolgatanga Old and New Markets, the main lorry station, among other places. Mr. Fuseini mentioned that, through their engagement, the public has accepted and endorsed the app, stating that it will be a game-changer.

Students from the Bolgatanga Nursing Training College, who joined the health walk to educate the people, said the new application, together with the already existing short code, will help people from far and near to have easy access to health care delivery.
