The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Chiana-Paga Constituency, Robert Aloo, has indicated that his opponent from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nikyema Billa Alamzy, is never his competitor in the upcoming December 7th elections.

According to him, with his previous electoral experiences in both the 2016 and 2020 races, it would be improper for him to tag his opponent, who has yet to experience such, as his competitor, rather, than himself.

“Alamzy is not my competitor, I don’t see him as my competitor, no. After the primaries, my immediate focus was to self-reflect, and I’m doing that.”

Speaking on A1 Radio, Mr. Aloo, in a rhetorical stance, questioned the necessity of competing with someone like Mr. Alamzy, his opponent from the NDC, who lacks the firsthand experience of running in previous elections.

Mr. Aloo firmly believed that he must go above and beyond his previous efforts to earn the appreciation and votes of his constituents.

According to him, this introspective approach is crucial for garnering the trust and mandate of the constituents to represent them effectively in parliament.

Adding to that, evaluating his past contributions was key in the sense that it would help him scrutinize the methodologies employed, and explore avenues for improvement.

He asserted that these experiences have deepened his understanding of the expectations and needs of the people of Chiana-Paga and that he will therefore not see his opponent as his competitor but rather as himself.
