The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Officer in the Talensi constituency, Michael Nangena, launched a scathing attack on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, accusing them of being bankrupt of ideas for addressing the critical issue of unemployment.
According to Mr. Nangena, the NPP government’s inability to effectively tackle the rising unemployment rate, which he claims stands at a staggering 14.8%, is indicative of their lack of innovative solutions.
His comments came in the wake of President Akufo-Addo’s recent State of the Nation Address.
Speaking on A1 Radio, the communicator argued that such a significant percentage of unemployed individuals warrants immediate attention from the president during his annual address to the nation.
He asserted that unemployment is a pressing issue that requires strategic policies and concrete actions.
He again pointed out that the failure to address the problem adequately not only leaves a large segment of the population in dire straits but also hampers the overall economic development of the nation.
He therefore emphasized the need for a comprehensive and sustainable approach to address unemployment, urging that the NDC government, if voted into power after the December 7th elections, will prioritize the issue.
