The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has unveiled its frontline team for the 2024 general elections. The team comprises key advisors and members of the party. This team will lead the party’s campaign efforts in the Upper East region.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the National Campaign Manager of the NPP, Frederick Opare Ansah, said the over 40-member campaign team’s duty is to work hard collectively for victory on December 7th later this year. Mr. Opare noted that the regional campaign team would be working closely with the National campaign team in order to achieve the ultimate goal.

“It will be your responsibility to coordinate all the teams. You have to also ensure that all the needs required by constituencies that fall within the region are properly addressed and know exactly what these constituencies need to win the election for us. When you communicate that properly to us in Accra, we then pick it up and know the kind of support you want. Because we cannot sit in Accra and know exactly what the constituencies need to win the seats for us, so we want it to start from the bottom to the top.”

The campaign team comprises all regional Executives and the Council of Elders in the region, including other influential people across the region. The team is being led by the Upper East Regional Chairman of the party, Lawyer Anthony Namoo, and deputized by the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu.

Addressing the party members at the ceremony, the Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, called on the party members to desist from tribal politics and the “pull him/her down” syndrome and focus on building the party together in the region.

Speaking to A1 News about the readiness of the team, Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga, the Upper East Regional Communication Director of the NPP, said the team is ever ready and competent to coordinate the campaigns for victory come December 7th, 2024.
