The Asanga family, through the Alamasiya Memorial Scholarship has donated new uniforms and sneakers to a group of deserving young girls at Eureka Academy in Sumbrungu, Upper East Region.

The initiative, aimed at alleviating the educational burdens faced by underprivileged students in the area, also marks a tribute to honor the memory of Alamasiya Asanga, who, despite lacking formal education himself, prioritized the education of his children.

The occasion, filled with warmth and hope, had representatives from the Asanga family present the items to a select group of underprivileged girls in the school.

Arnold Asanga, who spoke on behalf of the Asangas, highlighted the profound impact Alamasiya’s decision had on subsequent generations.

“Today, we, his grandchildren, are immensely fortunate by the quality decision he made, and we have therefore decided to lessen the burden on some underprivileged families by providing the basic logistics needed for sound education. It is our hope that, by this gesture, other families or individuals will be encouraged to remember the ground on which they were born and extend the same kindness to the poor, to be active participants in change.”

The Alamasiya Memorial Scholarship, established to preserve the memory and values of their late grandfather, aims to provide essential support to underprivileged students, ensuring they have access to the basic necessities for a sound education.

Through this initiative, the Asanga family hopes to inspire others to reflect on their roots and contribute to positive change within their communities.
