Starling Ayinenongma Baba, the former Parliamentary Candidate for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) in the Bolgatanga East Constituency of the Upper East Region during the 2012 elections, has switched allegiance to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The move, he asserted, is driven by the transformative and proactive developmental projects spearheaded by the incumbent Member of Parliament, Dr. Dominic Ayine.

Mr. Baba lauded Dr. Ayine’s relentless efforts in enhancing various aspects of the constituency’s infrastructure, particularly in healthcare, water accessibility, and education.

He emphasized that witnessing tangible improvements under Dr. Ayine’s leadership as an opposition was instrumental in his decision to align with the NDC.

“The improved health facilities, the provision of clean drinking water, and the bolstering of educational infrastructure stood out as a testament to Dr. Ayine’s dedication to the constituents’ welfare,” he added.

He portrayed Dr. Ayine as a unifying figure, capable of transcending partisan lines to serve the interests of all constituents.

Pledging his unwavering commitment, Mr. Baba vowed to collaborate closely with party members, supporters, and executives to amplify the growth trajectory of both the constituents and the NDC in the area.

Mr. Baba articulated his aspirations to not only secure victory for Dr. Ayine but also to surpass previous electoral margins, setting new benchmarks for success.

He underscored the importance of conducting issue-based campaigns, urging fellow party loyalists to refrain from resorting to misinformation and propaganda tactics.

In a gesture of solidarity and unity, Mr. Azure Isaac Ayelatoe, the Constituency Chairman, extended a warm welcome to Mr. Baba, emphasizing collaborative efforts towards shared goals within the party.

Mr. Ayelatoe urged party members to embrace Mr. Baba with open arms, emphasizing an open-door policy for dialogue and cooperation.
