The People’s National Convention parliamentary candidate for Talensi constituency, Dr. Wombeogo Michael Namalteng, has promised to transform Talensi District into a world-class city to attract foreign investors.

Speaking on Daybreak Upper East show on A1 Radio, Dr. Wombeogo said Talensi district is gifted with natural resources enough to make it a world-class city that attracts foreigners.

He mentioned the sites for tourism, deposits of mineral resources amongst others as avenues to create wealth for the people and develop the district. However, bad leadership has deprived the people of Talensi of good living.

“I want to make Talensi a project to bring about the manifestation of the Talensi Agenda. The Talensi agenda first of all begins with peace, but when you want to make peace you must seek justice and that is what I am intending to do. If I am given the opportunity, if Talensi people are provoked to do the right thing, to be committed to the development and growth of the land that God has given to us and blessed us with resources.

We will not only make Talensi a London in Ghana but we will make the whole of Upper East a better place that will have our name attached to it. We can do it, because it is money. It is about resources that we use to develop that.

With committed leadership, not leaders who will take resources and go and invest down south, and go and invest outside the country. No, leaders who will take the resources and invest in our land, build the factories on our land, build the companies on our land, build the houses, the beautiful hotels on our land, let the people come from somewhere else and visit our land. We have a lot of tourist centers. Go there and see how they are developed. They have been there time immemorial. Go to the Tenzuk Shrine, nothing has been done. I have always spoken since 2008 and even our member of parliament is from that place. What has he done for the tourist site that is so dear to the people of this area, not only Ghanaians but everybody in the diaspora? They come there to visit the place. What is there? Nothing to write home about.

You see, God has blessed Talensi and I tell you, we need committed leadership, the right sense of leaders with the people.”
