COP Akolgo stresses importance of TVET for sustainable development

Commissioner of Police (Rtd.) Patrick Akolgo, Chief Executive Officer of Blue-Sky Hotel, has emphasized the crucial role that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) plays in driving sustainable development. Speaking as a special guest at Bolgatanga Technical University’s (BTU) 25th-anniversary celebration, COP Akolgo urged collective support for technical-oriented institutions in the country.

COP Akolgo stated that TVET is essential for creating sustainable jobs and fostering national development. He highlighted the importance of leveraging technology to establish and sustain businesses, particularly in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world.

“As we celebrate the university’s 25-year anniversary, let us recognize the critical role that TVET plays in driving sustainable development. Let’s all acknowledge the importance of leveraging technology to establish and sustain businesses, and let us commit to supporting institutions like Bolgatanga Technical University, which are at the forefront of equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world,” he said.

According to COP Akolgo, Bolgatanga Technical University plays a vital role in shaping the future workforce. By supporting such institutions, students will be better equipped to succeed in an ever-evolving job market.
