“No Show” of National Security Officials at B.E.C.E centers

Checks at the various centers of the ongoing re-sit examinations of the Basic Education Certificate Examination in Bolgatanga revealed there was no show of National Security Officials contrary to earlier reports that they will take over the invigilation of the examination.

The Deputy Minister of education Hon. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa said on Monday that the National Security will take over supervision and invigilation process of the ongoing re-sit examinations being written Nationwide.

However, A1radio’s check at the various examination centers reveals that no National security personnel were present at the various examination centers in the Upper East Region.

A supervisor at one of the centers who spoke to A1 radio’s news team on condition of anonymity said “we have not seen any National security personnel here. I was amazed when i heard that report but till now we have not seen any National security personnel here. It was a political statement I guess”.

Some of the supervisors questioned the possibility of a takeover by National Security personnel which includes the BNI to monitor or supervise the ongoing examinations considering the numerical strength of supervisors or invigilators needed to conduct the exam in one center.
