The President’s nominee for the Jirapa Municipality has been confirmed after receiving 45 ‘Yes’ votes out of the 52 votes cast. 6 people voted against the confirmation of Mr. Nicolas Soyiri while one vote was rejected.
The nominee, Mr. Nicolas Soyiri was picked by the president to replace Madam Christine Bombanye Amadu after she failed on three different occasions to get the needed votes from Members of the Assembly.
Madam Bambanye failed to secure two-thirds of the valid votes cast three times. On her third try, she had 30 ‘Yes’ votes and 21 ‘No’ votes with 1 rejected ballot.
