The Upper East Regional Secretariat of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has partnered with the Youth Network for Societal Transformation (YNEST) Global to hold the maiden edition of the #BolgaWeDey exhibition fair at the Bombs Events Centre in Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional capital.
Speaking at a brief ceremony to signify the opening of the fair, the Regional Director for the GTA, Henry Yeleduor explained that as an agency with the sole aim of projecting the Upper East Region and Ghana as a whole, it only felt right for it to join YNEST Global to launch such a programme.
Mr. Yeledour said as Ghanaians, we must begin to consume our own local meals, use locally produced organic food products, purchase traditionally produced attires and project the culture of the various ethnic groups within the country.
The three-day exhibition fair, which opened yesterday, March 4, has some business owners showcasing products like organic food products [honey, rabbits, cereals, rice], smocks, fugu fabrics, beads, dresses for women, sculptures and other art exhibits produced by students of the Bolgatanga Technical University.
