The Bolgatanga Municipal Health Directorate has asked residents to complete their vaccination processes. This call forms part of the Directorate’s attempts at meeting the targets set for the Municipality.

For those individuals who have taken both shots of the available vaccines, the Health Directorate has asked that they go in for the booster shots.

Edmund Nyanwura, the Bolgatanga Municipal Director for Health Services made the call when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East.

“We have a target of over 93,000 people in the municipality who are fully qualified to take the vaccines. Currently, we have just over 50,000 people who have taken at least the first dose and over 33,000 who have taken the second dose. We need those who have taken their first dose to complete the process. Those who have completed the two doses should take the booster shots.” he said.

The booster shots are to be taken by individuals who took their second COVID-19 jabs at least three months ago.

“The boosters are available. In fact, we have 3 vaccines that are available. The AstraZeneca, the Johnson and Johnson and the Pfizer. The Pfizer vaccines are good for pregnant women as well,” Dr Nyanwura said.
