The Chief Executive Officer of Ayire Hospital, Mr. Ayire Adongo, has inaugurated a newly appointed Board of Directors, marking a key milestone in the facility’s strategic growth and its role in Ghana’s private healthcare sector.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, Mr. Adongo said the inauguration was not merely a formality but a reaffirmation of the hospital’s commitment to strong corporate governance and improved healthcare delivery.
He highlighted the important role private health institutions play in complementing the Ghana Health Service, describing Ayire Hospital as a frontline partner helping to bridge healthcare gaps from the community to the regional level in support of Ghana’s universal health coverage agenda.
Focus on Training and Service
Addressing the board members, Mr. Adongo stressed that their responsibilities go beyond administrative oversight, charging them to guide the hospital in both saving lives and training future health professionals.
He disclosed that the hospital has a long-term strategic plan to establish a medical training facility to help build local capacity in the health sector.
“There is a compelling need for me to use my experience in the health sector to serve my people, not just by treating them, but by building capacity for the future,” he said.
While acknowledging challenges facing the health sector, including funding constraints, workforce migration and changing disease patterns, Mr. Adongo urged the board to prioritize public service, innovation and patient welfare.
“Let today mark a turning point. Let’s get to work, because the health and well-being of our people depend on it,” he added.
Board Accepts Mandate
Speaking on behalf of the board, Chairman Mr. Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in the team and pledged to serve with integrity and dedication.
He assured management and staff of the board’s readiness to work collaboratively to enhance service delivery and uphold high professional standards.
Mr. Ayamga said the board would focus on providing sound policy direction, infrastructure oversight and responsible resource management to help position Ayire Hospital for a healthier and more equitable future for its clients.
