Mr. Awuni, a native of Tindonmolgo in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the Upper East Region, has distinguished himself not only through his professional excellence but also through his extensive philanthropic contributions to community development.

Through a youth-led group known as Friends of Prosper, Mr. Awuni and the group has championed several initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and social cohesion in the Bolgatanga Municipality. The group, with support from Mr. Awuni, served as the lead sponsor of the Frafra Inter-Community Unity Soccer Tournament, an initiative that promoted peace, unity, and youth engagement among communities in the municipality.

Other key interventions by Mr. Awuni and the group include support toward the establishment of a Passport Office in the Upper East Region, which has enhanced access to passport services for residents and reduced the need for long-distance travel.

They have also facilitated the drilling of boreholes in the Yorogo and Tindonsobligo communities to improve access to safe drinking water, while supporting the education of brilliant but less privileged students to pursue tertiary education.

In the health sector, Mr. Awuni together with the ‘Friends of Prosper’ donated GH¢60,000 to support Beatrice Dadzie, a mother of two who was battling a life-threatening brain tumour. Although the contribution significantly supported her medical treatment, she later passed away.

Driven by a vision to promote economic empowerment, particularly among women, Mr. Awuni and the group recently donated GH¢80,000 to support 60 women in the Bolgatanga Municipality. Beneficiaries received grants ranging between GH¢1,000 and GH¢2,000 to strengthen micro-enterprises such as petty trading, food vending, tailoring, soap-making, and small poultry ventures. Of the total amount, GH¢60,000 was distributed to women in Tindonmolgo, while GH¢20,000 went to women in Tindonsobligo.
