Six teams have qualified for the Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) Middle League following an intense Division Two campaign involving 24 clubs across three zones.
After 14 matches in each zone, the top two teams secured qualification to the Middle League, where they will compete in a round-robin format for a single slot to the Ghana Division One League next season. The bottom teams in each zone have been relegated to their respective municipal or district Division Three leagues.
Zone One
Zorkor United FC defied all odds to remain unbeaten throughout the zonal campaign, finishing top with 36 points out of a possible 42. They wrapped up their campaign with a 1-1 away draw against Tilli Awarey Stars on the final day.
Bongo Samba Stars FC secured second place with 27 points. They sealed qualification with an emphatic 4-1 home victory over Yelwoko Wingers SC. Samba Stars edged past Bongo Young Reformers FC after the two sides played out a goalless draw in Week 13.
Zone Two
Bolga Soccer Masters bounced back strongly after losing their opening match 1-0 to Berekum City. The team regrouped and finished top of the zone with 33 points, sealing qualification in impressive fashion.
Berekum City FC finished second with 30 points. A crucial 1-1 draw against Winkogo Dynamic Sharpers in Week 13 and a 1-0 victory over Soccer Masters in their final fixture ensured their qualification, finishing two points ahead of Winkogo Dynamic Sharpers FC.
Zone Three
Navrongo Liberty Stars and Paga Crocodile Stars both confirmed qualification in Week 13. Liberty Stars recorded a dominant 5-0 win over Saboro FC, while Paga Crocodile Stars played out a goalless draw against Wiaga United.
Liberty Stars, who struggled at the start of the season, turned their campaign around under the guidance of experienced coach Cherry Azanlerigu Mboma. They capped off their campaign with a 3-0 victory over Paga Crocodile Stars to finish top with 31 points. Paga Crocodile Stars placed second with 26 points.
Liberty Stars, newly promoted from Division Three, made an immediate impact by qualifying for the Middle League in their debut Division Two season.
Middle League Format
The six qualified teams will compete in a round-robin (all-play-all) format. The team that finishes top will gain promotion to the Ghana Division One League. Additionally, the top four teams will qualify for the MTN FA Cup for the 2026/2027 football season.
Zone winners — Zorkor United SC, Bolga Soccer Masters FC, and Navrongo Liberty Stars — will receive trophies and medals, as announced by the UERFA Executive Council prior to the season.
Last season, Soccer Masters, Berekum City, Crocodile Stars and Zorkor United participated in the Middle League, with Bolga All Stars SC ultimately earning promotion to Division One.
For Bongo Samba Stars FC and Navrongo Liberty Stars, this marks their first appearance in the Middle League under the current three-zone format.
