Residents of Yorogo in the Bolgatanga Municipality have commissioned the “Tigsitaaba Never Stop Dreaming” multi-purpose Library Complex, marking a significant step in the community’s drive to promote education and local development.

The project, initiated in 2019 as part of the annual Tigstaaba Festival, was designed to foster unity, preserve culture and advance community development.

Construction of the facility was supported by philanthropist Adams Schanz and his team from the United States, who contributed approximately GH¢100,000 toward the project. The library is equipped with modern ICT systems, high-speed internet and computers, positioning it as a center for learning and research.

Dr. Gilbert Ayinbire Abonuusom, chairman of the Tigstaaba Festival Committee, described the project as a testament to what can be achieved through community collaboration.

“This project shows what is possible when a community comes together with a shared vision,” he said.

Patrick Asebga, spokesperson for the Chief of Yorogo, Naba Kosomo Legbe Serum – Tinganbila – Lebge Goo, expressed optimism about the facility’s impact, saying it would expand educational opportunities for children and support lifelong learning in the community.

Upper East Regional Minister Donatus Akamugri Atanga commended the residents and donors for their initiative and urged students to take full advantage of the new facility.
