The Bolgatanga Central Constituency Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Maxwell Aburiya, has donated items to support Muslims observing the Ramadan fast in the constituency.
The donation exercise took place on February 21 and 22, 2026, where Mr. Aburiya presented bags of sugar to Muslim communities across the Bolgatanga Central Constituency to assist them during the month-long fasting period.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Aburiya said the gesture was aimed at showing solidarity with the Muslim community and supporting them as they observe one of the most important periods on the Islamic calendar. He noted that Ramadan is a time of reflection, sacrifice, and unity, and called on the beneficiaries to remember the country and its leaders in their prayers.
He urged the Muslim community to use the period of fasting to pray for the four flagbearer aspirants of the party and the presidential candidate-elect, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, asking for divine guidance and unity within the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Mr. Aburiya also expressed gratitude to delegates in the Upper East Region, particularly those in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency, for their support during the recently held presidential primaries of the party. He said their backing played a key role and assured them of his continued commitment to strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
“As the Constituency Organizer, there is a need for me to bring everyone on board to ensure total unity among party faithful so that we can work together towards victory in the December 7, 2028, general elections,” he said.
Some of the Muslims who received the items expressed appreciation for the support, describing the gesture as timely. They also pledged to continue praying for peace, unity, and development in the constituency and the country as a whole.
