Navrongo Liberty Stars on Sunday, March 1, 2026, were presented with a trophy and medals after emerging winners of Zone Three of the Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) Division Two League.
Before being presented with the trophy and medals, the team locked horns with Division Three side Biu Union Stars in a coronation match, securing a 1-0 victory. The win delighted supporters of the “Together We Rise” boys.
Navrongo Liberty Stars FC clinched the top spot with 31 points, following a strong comeback under coach Cherry Azanlerigu Mboma.
The team also set a record by going the entire season unbeaten away from home.
Fans from across the Kassena-Nankana area gathered at the COS Park in Navrongo to celebrate and show support for the team’s historic achievement.
Navrongo Liberty Stars FC will next compete in the Middle League, where they will face five other top teams that have qualified for the competition.
