The Managing Director of Kacstone Records, Wenawome Duriyem Aborah, has donated 140 textbooks to support teaching and learning in selected underserved schools in the Kassena-Nankana West District. Mr. Aborah, who also serves as Chairman of the Paga Youth Movement, made the donation as part of his commitment to promoting education and supporting young people in the district.
The textbooks were presented on his behalf by Raymond Adda during the celebration of Ghana Independence Day, marking the country’s 69th anniversary in Paga. In total, ten schools are expected to benefit from the donation, comprising five Junior High Schools and five Primary Schools.
For the Junior High Schools, each of the selected schools will receive four sets of core subject textbooks in Mathematics, English Language, Integrated Science, and Social Studies, covering the syllabus for Basic 7 to Basic 9. This amounts to 20 textbooks distributed among the five Junior High Schools.
The Primary Schools will receive the larger share of the books, with each of the five schools receiving 24 textbooks covering Mathematics, English Language, Science, and Computing for Basic 1 to Basic 6, bringing the total number of textbooks allocated to the primary level to 120.
Presenting the items, Mr. Adda said the donation forms part of Mr. Aborah’s ongoing efforts to contribute to the development of education in the district. He explained that improving access to learning materials is essential in helping students in underserved communities achieve better academic outcomes. According to him, Mr. Aborah strongly believes that investing in education is one of the most effective ways of empowering young people and improving the future of communities.
Aside from the textbooks, soft drinks were also provided to refresh students who participated in the Independence Day march past during the celebration. Receiving the items on behalf of the schools, the District Director of Education for the Kassena-Nankana West District, Mary Magdalene Wompakea, expressed gratitude to Mr. Aborah for the support.
She commended him for his continued commitment to improving the standard of education in the district and supporting learners in underserved schools. Madam Wompakea noted that the textbooks would significantly enhance effective teaching and learning in the beneficiary schools and help teachers deliver lessons more effectively.
