The Assembly Member for the Soe-Yipaala Electoral Area, Dr. Justice Aduko, has highlighted significant improvements in healthcare delivery, citing the completion and commissioning of key health facilities in the area.
Speaking on A1 Radio, Dr. Aduko explained that residents previously had no functional public health centre, forcing them to travel long distances to access care, often at private facilities or the regional hospital. The lack of nearby government-run facilities created both financial and logistical challenges for residents.
“With no functional health centre prior to my tenure, residents had to rely on private facilities, which were costly and often inaccessible. Through collaboration with the community, traditional leaders, the church, and other stakeholders, we were able to establish a functional health centre in the Soe Catholic Church area,” Dr. Aduko said.
He also revealed that a previously uncompleted health facility in Yipaala has now been completed, commissioned, and is operational, further improving access to medical services. Additionally, the area is set to benefit from a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound initiated by the Member of Parliament, which will enhance healthcare delivery when completed.
“Today, we are on track to having three functional health facilities in the electoral area, a major improvement for residents who previously lacked access to government health infrastructure,” Dr. Aduko noted.
