Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga, Nikyema Billa Alamzy, has donated GHS 100,000 to support the completion of a community-initiated primary school project in Kandiga Bembisi.
The donation, presented during a homecoming event organised to raise funds for the project, is expected to accelerate the completion of the school, which has stalled due to funding challenges.
The primary school serves as a key educational facility for children in the community but has faced delays over the past three years because of limited resources.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Alamzy underscored the importance of education in community development and pledged his commitment to improving educational infrastructure in the area.
“We cannot continue to gather here every year over one project. I am ending it here with a cheque of one hundred thousand Ghana cedis to support the completion of the school,” he said.
The Chief of Kandiga, Naba Henry Abawine Amega-Etigo, welcomed the donation and expressed gratitude to Mr. Alamzy for what he described as a timely intervention.
He said the completion of the school would enhance access to education and contribute to the socio-economic development of the community.
The homecoming event brought together residents, traditional leaders, and stakeholders to mobilise resources for the project.
Also in attendance was the District Chief Executive for Kassena Nankana West, Stephen Aeke Akurungo, along with constituency party executives and supporters.
Community members said the support marks a significant step toward completing the school and improving learning conditions for children in Kandiga Bembisi.
