Catholic choristers in the Bongo District have held a choral music night in honour of the late District Chief Executive, Joseph Akasake Abaah.

The event took place at Zorko-Awaah, the family residence where the late DCE was laid to rest, and brought together choir groups and musicians from across the district and beyond.

Former Bongo District Chief Executive, Peter Ayinbisa Ayamga, who chaired the programme, described the late Mr. Abaah as a leader committed to development in the district.

“He was a man of hope for developmental change in Bongo, but death has taken him away from us,” he said.

Mr. Ayamga added that despite political differences, Mr. Abaah was a friend and a dedicated public servant whose contributions would be remembered.

Some choristers said they were still struggling to come to terms with his passing, describing him as a hardworking leader who had begun addressing key development challenges in the district.

The choral night featured performances from Catholic choir groups organised into five zones: Soe, Namoo, Beo, Zorko, and Bongo.

The performances included hymns and farewell songs, offering what organisers described as a musical tribute to the late DCE’s life and service.

Quotations from the Bible, including Psalm 116:15 and Revelation 14:13, were read to comfort mourners and reflect on his passing.

Organisers said the event was intended to celebrate the life and legacy of Mr. Abaah while offering prayers for his peaceful rest.
