The Member of Parliament for the Bongo Constituency in the Upper East Region, Charles Bawaduah, has toured basic schools in the district affected by a recent rainstorm.

The heavy downpour, accompanied by strong winds, ripped off the roofs of several school buildings, leaving pupils and teachers in distress.

The affected institutions include Bugrigo Primary School, Apatanga Teachers’ Quarters and Akulyoo Primary School.

During the visit, Bawaduah inspected the damaged structures to assess the extent of the destruction.

He said some of the affected school buildings had their roofs completely ripped off and pledged to mobilise support from relevant stakeholders to restore the facilities.

The MP said the intervention is necessary to ensure that teaching and learning continue without disruption.

Bawaduah’s visit forms part of broader efforts to address challenges facing education infrastructure in the constituency.
