Pentecost Hospital in Bolgatanga has launched a discounted laboratory testing promotion aimed at encouraging early detection and prevention of common diseases among residents in and around the municipality.
The initiative runs from April 1 to May 31, 2026, and offers essential diagnostic services at reduced rates as part of the hospital’s focus on preventive healthcare.
According to Rev. Dr. Kwame Adjei, General Manager of Pentecost Hospital Bolgatanga and Resident Minister for the Bethel Worship Centre of the Church of Pentecost in Zaare, the programme is designed to identify health conditions early before they become severe.
“Many patients come to us with conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and kidney and liver-related issues. When we detect them early, we are able to intervene promptly and prevent complications,” he said.
He explained that years of observation at the facility showed many patients present with chronic conditions that could have been better managed if detected earlier, informing the decision to introduce the promotion.
The discounted package includes Liver Function Tests, Renal Function Tests, Lipid Profile, and Uric Acid tests, among others. The tests, which normally cost GH¢360 per person, are now available at GH¢150.
Rev. Dr. Adjei said the goal is to make healthcare more accessible while encouraging routine medical checkups.
“We want to screen as many people as possible so that we can detect conditions early and start treatment before complications set in,” he said.
He added that results are delivered within 24 hours, after which doctors provide interpretation, treatment guidance, and lifestyle advice.
He also noted that the hospital runs a Wellness Clinic for routine checkups, encouraging people to seek preventive care.
“You do not need to fall sick before going to the hospital. This is a discounted package you can opt for,” he said.
Pentecost Hospital Bolgatanga operates as a 24-hour facility offering outpatient services, laboratory diagnostics, theatre services, ultrasound, antenatal care, admissions, and emergency care. It was commissioned in July 2025 and began full operations in September 2025.
The hospital also conducts medical outreaches and collaborates with institutions such as schools, companies, the Fire Service, and mining firms for health screenings. During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it partnered with Women in Broadcasting to conduct screenings that led to early detection and referrals.
In addition, the facility provides certified medical examinations for employment, education, travel, and corporate requirements.
The hospital is located behind Ganass Hotel at Kumbagre in Bolgatanga.
