The Municipal Chief Executive for the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly, Roland Atanga Ayoo, has called for deliberate investments in young people, stressing that inclusion must translate into practical opportunities that allow all segments of the youth population to contribute to development.

Speaking at the 4th edition of the International Tea Day celebration organised by A1 Radio and AquaBolg Natural Mineral Water in partnership with Amiah Hospital, Mr. Ayoo said meaningful progress can only be achieved when opportunities are accessible to young people from different backgrounds and circumstances.

The event was held under the theme “Fostering Growth and Inclusion.”

“True progress is not measured merely by economic indicators, but by the extent to which every member of society, particularly our youth, is empowered to contribute meaningfully,” he stated.

According to the MCE, Bolgatanga’s youth possess enormous creativity, talent, and innovation that must be nurtured through supportive policies, mentorship, and access to opportunities.

He noted that the Municipal Assembly has prioritised youth participation in governance, skills training, and enterprise support initiatives aimed at transforming youthful potential into sustainable development.

“By providing training, mentorship, and support for youth-led ventures, we aim to transform potential into tangible growth, ensuring that our young people are not only beneficiaries of development but active drivers of it,” he emphasised.

Mr. Ayoo further appealed to government institutions, traditional authorities, community leaders, and the private sector to continue investing in programmes that promote youth empowerment and social inclusion.

He said building resilient communities requires ensuring that opportunities reach young people across different social and economic backgrounds.

The celebration featured free health screening, nutrition education, traditional games, networking activities, and community engagement sessions. The event was organised in collaboration with AquaBolg Foundation and Amiah Hospital, with support from several local sponsors including International Travellers Inn, Martin Fast Food, Senorf Catering Services, Hights Enterprises, and Jayaf Company Limited.
