Kacstone Records has donated 15 hexagonal desks to the Paga English and Arabic Primary School in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region to improve teaching and learning, particularly among pupils in the kindergarten department.

The donation, which will accommodate about 90 pupils, follows an appeal by the school’s management to address inadequate furniture that had negatively affected learning conditions, enrolment, and retention.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Headteacher of the school, Alhassan Bukari, expressed gratitude to Kacstone Records for responding to the school’s appeal.

According to him, when he assumed office in September 2025, he observed that many pupils in the kindergarten department were learning under difficult conditions due to the lack of appropriate desks.

“When I took over the school in September 2025, I saw the state and the condition in which our kids were learning, and I made an appeal to Kacstone Records for hexagonal desks which will cater for 90 pupils in our KG department. I am glad that today we are here for the donation,” he said.

Mr. Bukari explained that before the intervention, pupils sat on ordinary benches without writing surfaces, making it difficult for them to learn how to write and participate effectively in classroom activities.

He noted that the situation had also affected enrolment and retention, as some parents were reluctant to enroll their children in the school due to the poor learning environment.

“Because of the conditions under which these four and five-year-old children were learning, it was difficult getting children admitted into the school, and some of those admitted eventually dropped out,” he added.

The Headteacher described the donation as timely and said it would significantly improve the learning environment for the pupils.

He further appealed to organizations, philanthropists, and well-meaning individuals to support the school by stocking its library with books.

“Paga English and Arabic Primary School has a pupil population of 419. Kacstone has helped us solve one of the challenges we are facing. We now appeal to organizations and philanthropists to support our library with books,” he said.

Presenting the desks on behalf of Kacstone Records, Mohammed Issah Abukari said the organization was motivated by the need to support children’s education and contribute to improving learning conditions.

“Some time ago, the school appealed to Kacstone Records to support them with desks. Some of their nursery students did not have proper places to sit and learn. We saw the need to come to their aid,” he explained.

Mr. Abukari emphasized that the donation was not because the organization had abundant resources but because it recognized the importance of investing in children.

“Kacstone Records is not doing this because it is rich. We are doing this because children are the future leaders, and it is important to support their learning,” he said.

He also called on other individuals, companies, and philanthropists to support government efforts by contributing to educational development in their communities.

The Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association, Sadik Osman, commended Kacstone Records for the donation and said the desks would go a long way in improving teaching and learning at the school.
