Popular Upper East TikTok creator Apandoo Apunga, known as “Bolga Killer Kayoore,” is calling for the establishment of an airport in the Upper East Region, saying it would transform the regional economy and improve connectivity.
Speaking on Bolga FM’s Buuri Malema Sanga programme, Apunga said long-term infrastructure projects such as an airport should take priority over short-term political considerations.
He said an airport would boost trade, tourism, investment, and accessibility for residents and visitors, while strengthening business opportunities in the region.
“An airport in the Upper East Region would boost trade, tourism, investment, and accessibility, making it easier for businesses and visitors to connect with the region,” he said.
Apunga expressed concern that some leaders are not prioritising development projects with long-term impact, and urged stakeholders to focus on infrastructure that drives sustainable growth beyond election cycles.
He also highlighted the growing influence of TikTok and other social media platforms in communication, education, business promotion, and cultural preservation.
He appealed to fellow TikTok creators in the Upper East Region to form an association or union to share ideas, support one another, and collaborate on development-oriented initiatives.
“A united body of content creators could use social media platforms to showcase the region’s culture, tourism potential, local businesses, and development needs to a wider audience,” he explained.
According to him, such collaboration would strengthen the digital content industry and contribute to youth empowerment and community development.
Apunga encouraged young people to use social media responsibly and to leverage their platforms to promote positive change.
He said that with unity and creativity, content creators can position the Upper East Region more strongly in Ghana’s digital and entertainment space while also advocating for key infrastructure such as an airport.
