The Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Navrongo Central Constituency, Alhassan Abubakari Suwaidu, has criticised what he describes as persistent attacks and threats against the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer, by communicators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on Day Break Upper East on A1 Radio on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, Mr. Suwaidu was responding to remarks by NPP Navrongo Central Constituency Secretary Moses Amoah, who suggested that Mr. Archer would one day answer for his actions when political power changes hands.
Mr. Suwaidu described the comments as dangerous and unjustified.
“You just heard him threatening Raymond Archer on air. He’s not the only one. Almost all their communicators do the same thing. Raymond Archer is only executing the mandate entrusted to him as EOCO boss.”
He accused the opposition of attempting to intimidate public officials carrying out their statutory responsibilities.
“They want to make lawful investigations look like political persecution simply because the suspect is an NPP official.”
Mr. Suwaidu also criticised Dennis Miracle Aboagye over previous political comments.
“He who comes with equity must come with clean hands. Dennis Miracle Aboagye sat on air saying that when there is a change of government, Shamima Muslim would be prosecuted, not knowing he himself was sitting on a mess.”
He said the ongoing investigations demonstrate that no public official or political actor should presume immunity from accountability.
