Kacstones Records and Paga Youth Movement have been named main sponsors of the 5th Upper East Regional Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards, scheduled for October 2, 2026.
Their sponsorship was announced during the official launch of the awards in Bolgatanga, as preparations begin for the annual event recognising journalists and their contributions to development in the Upper East Region.
Managing Director of Kacstones Records, Wenawome Duriyem Aborah, who attended the launch, used the occasion to urge journalists to remain committed to their profession despite the challenges confronting the media.
He said communities depend on journalists to raise important issues, investigate matters of public interest and advocate for their wellbeing, making it important for the media to remain a credible voice for society.
Mr. Aborah also urged journalists to uphold the ethics and principles of the profession, cautioning them against allowing politics, money or fear to compromise their professional integrity.
Beyond journalism, he called for stronger collaboration among stakeholders to address substance abuse in the Upper East Region and promote the region’s tourism potential.
Mr. Aborah said Kacstones Records’ sponsorship of the awards forms part of its commitment to supporting journalism, youth development and community advancement in the region.
The 5th Upper East Regional GJA Awards will be held under the theme, “Beyond the Headlines: The Media’s Role in Promoting WASH for Safe Motherhood and Quality Healthcare.”
MyTurn Limited and Lesken Enterprise Limited have also been announced as headline sponsors of the awards.
