SkaireSkairy Mbabil Soorebia, Upper East Regional representative who got evicted in the audition of Mtn HitMaker season II has expressed dissatisfaction about the way and manner in which the organizers treated him and his colleagues from the region.

Speaking to Worshipper, the host of A1 Radio’s mid-morning show, Soorebia said they were called by the organizers to report in Accra for a semi-final audition and when they got there, there was absolutely nothing like “exclusive right” as stated in the terms and conditions of the event.

Per the terms and conditions governing the show, it is stated that, the show will comprise 20 contestants, 10 from the regional radio selection channel and 10 from the demo drops via MTN service centers.

It further states that, the 20 selected contestants will be housed in the MTN HitMaker house for musical tutorials, where they will be appearing on television for weekly performances leading to evictions.

However, it turned out to be something different. They combined the regional representatives and those collected at the national level for auditioning and in their own act, had selected 12 contestants instead of the initial 20 to be housed; which goes contrary against the terms and conditions.

In respond to that, Mr. Richard Acheampong, a member of the organizers said there was nothing like automatic contestants or “exclusive right”

“There was nothing like that and whether you were a regional representative or not, you needed to be auditioned” -said Mr. Acheampong a member of the organizers.

Soorebia therefore questioned the reason for the regional radio selections if they had to be auditioned again after series of auditioning at the regional level.

“To me it wasn’t fair and next time people will not take the organizers serious at the regional levels through the radio selection process” –said Soorebia
