Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist in the Chiana/Paga constituency of the Upper East region have vehemently kicked against three constituency executives of the party who are tipped for appointments to various Government portfolios in the Kassena-Nankana West district.

The three persons are Mark Ayamga the constituency organizer, Sylvester Atule the constituency youth organizer and Thomas Kwalase, the constituency deputy youth organizer.

According to the group these three individuals are rumored to be considered for the positions of coordinators of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and Microfinance and Small Loans Center respectively in the district.

At a press conference held at Mirigu in the district, spokesperson for the group, Daniel Namoo alleged that these three constituency executives refusal to campaign for the NPP during the 2016 elections contributed to the party’s parliamentary defeat in the constituency. They added that the three executives refused to campaign for the then parliamentary candidate, Clement Dandori with the excuse that he is not their preferred candidate.

They also alleged that these three executives have a “record of financial mismanagement and as such cannot be trusted” as coordinators of the portfolios.”

Mr. Namoo stated that these three executives if considered for the positions “will vandalize the grassroots of the party since they are not known by the teaming youth who fought tirelessly to bring NPP back to power.”

The Concerned NPP activist in the Chiana/Paga constituency are therefore calling on the national executives of party and the appointment authorities to rescind any decision to appoint these three persons.
