USAG President calls for alternative way of funding higher education in Ghana

President of the University Students Association (USAG), Emmanuel Kwarteng Frimpong has called on Stakeholders to find a traditional way of funding higher education in Ghana.

According to him, finding an alternative way to fund higher education in the country is the only way of dealing with the annual cry about the rise in school fees.

“Stakeholders will need to come together to find a lasting alternative for the funding of tertiary education in the country that is the only way to help arrest the annual cry over fees by parents and students and will also help provide students some relief,” he told host of A1 Radio’s Daybreak Upper East, Christopher Asima.

His call comes days after Students in the various Public tertiary institutions  in the country are complaining about the astronomical rise in the academic user fees.

Meanwhile, student of the Universities have been directed to pay approved school fees for last academic whiles Parliament deliberate on the increase.
