CENFED, BEWDA Ghana and CODAC Bring Together Political Parties in Regional PEACE Forum

The Centre for Continuing Education & Professional Development  (Cenfed), the Bawku Women’s Development Association (BEWDA) Ghana and Codac all NGOs on Tuesday organized a regional peace forum in Bolgatanga on the theme; “Peace: a gateway for national integration and development”.

The forum brought together the media, political parties and other institutions including the Police and chiefs to deliberate on the need for peace. Upper East Regional police crime officer, Alex Asamoa Frimpong called on Radio stations to be wary of people who use their media platforms to spread hate speech and thereby create tension in the region.

Mr. Frimpong also advised the public to report any people who plan to foment trouble in the region. Bongo chief, Naba Salifu Alemyaarum also had a word of caution for the media.

Upper East Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association, Eric Amoh advised journalists and media practitioners, to always go beyond the ordinary when reporting about politicians.
