U/E: FDA conducts surveillance at patients safety centers

A year after it set up 17 Patients Safety Centers in the Upper East Region, the Food and Drugs Authority has started conducting surveillance to ensure the centers are serving the purpose they were set to up to achieve.

Patients Safety Centers are designated pharmacy shops where clients are encouraged to report all adverse drug effects to, for appropriate measures to be taken.

The Regional Director of FDA, Zackaria Braimah disclosed this on A1 RADIO on Wednesday.

He advised the general public to report adverse effects after taking any medicines to the safety centers for appropriate redress.
