The Mayor of Tamale, Musah Superior has announced an award scheme that seeks to award people who have distinguished themselves in the Metropolis for the year under review.
Announcing the award scheme through his Facebook handle, he indicated that “30 people and organizations are expected to be honored for this maiden edition.The recipients will be honored at an evening reception on Thursday, June 21, 2018 Recipients will be acknowledged and receive special commendation from the Mayor”.
His post read “Tamale Mayor’s EXCELLENCE AWARD is scheduled for June 2018 and I am pleased to announce the first ever Mayor’s Award in Ghana. Nominees must have demonstrated distinguished service, creative accomplishment, or other work to benefit the artistic, sports, historic, and broader economic, social and cultural life of Tamale.
Nominations for the Excellence Award will be accepted in the following categories:
Arts – Visual, performing, literary, collaborative, body of work.
History – Research, interpretation, exhibition, body of work.
Education – Art, history, cultural competency.
Support – Philanthropy, volunteerism, dedication to Tamale’s cultural, educational and business community.
Media.
Sanitation.
Non profits Organizations.
Etc
