Dr Sekou Nkrumah, the youngest son of Ghana’s first president, says he will not rule out the possibility of running for President.

Dr. Nkrumah was reacting to reports on social media that suggest he intends running for President in 2016.

According to him, even though his chances are very slim, he stands a better chance if he decides to contest in 2020.

“The point of the matter is that we are stuck with the two political parties, the NPP and the NDC. It is one of these two parties that will win. If you are talking about 2016 and the presidential ambition of anyone, Sekou Nkrumah included, you would really fall to the ground because you cannot beat Prez. Mahama just as you could not beat President Mills, he opined. “It is because that is the legacy that was left by the NDC founder, Rawlings”.

He noted that the NDC offers him a better chance of becoming a President of Ghana after President Mahama’s possible second term in 2016.

He added that he would fare better with the NDC because the party’s ideologies were also in line with his political objectives.
