Hip Hop and Afro pop artist Dagaow is set to release a new single titled “Yen Waste”.
The title of the song, which literally means ” We will not waste”, seeks to encourage the youth to take advantage of opportunities in life.
Dagaow, who is fond of encouraging the youth through his music, has carved a niche for himself in the Ghanaian music industry. According to the artist “I am a development oriented person and one of the ways I can help facilitate change is through music, this is because music is a powerful tool that can facilitate change”.
” I want to be a philanthropist and it begins with my music”. “If the youth are depressed, they should listen to Dagaow’s music, if they want motivation, they should listen to Dagaow’s music”. He implored.
Dagaow, who is also a journalist with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, has also shot a music video for this current single. In the video shot in Bolgatanga,the artist portray some skills the youth can acquire to earn a living. These include barbering, mechanics and so on.
The rapper is a strong proponent against the show of nudity in music videos. In his own word the music heavyweight said ” I think its quite time we stop showing naked women in our videos and use these videos to encourage the youth to aspire for greater things”.
