Following an assessment report carried by A1 News on the Pwalungu Bridge which was observed could collapse any time soon if significant immediate measures are not put in place to fix its dilapidated nature, authorities at the Ghana Highways have moved to assess the level of damage on the bridge for possible rehabilitation works.

Built over 30 years ago, the Pwalungu steel bridge which withstands all manner of axle load has not received any significant facelift. As a result, the deteriorated bridge now puts the lives of commuters, traders and residents at risk.
