Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Hassan Tampuli has assured that Ghanaians will remain the pivot around which government’s cylinder recirculation model policy will revolve
The NPA boss also gave indication that stakeholders who have kicked against the policy for fear of being kicked out of business have no course to be afraid as they will be partners with the Authority in the roll out of the policy.
Mr. Tampuli who was speaking during a courtesy call on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II explained that the Authority is currently holding stakeholder engagements across the country with the view to bringing all relevant stakeholders up to speed with the nuances and intricacies involved in the roll out of the policy.
Mr. Tampuli gave the assurance that the NPA will continue to engage the stakeholders and operators, particularly those who are unhappy with the policy to ensure that a mutually beneficial arrangement is arrived at for the benefit of the generality of Ghanaians.
The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on his part urged effective collaboration between players in the petroleum sector in order to make them effective and efficient in product delivery and for accelerated economic growth.
He was more particular about the NPA ensuring the enforcement of safety standards at the pumps, citing recent gas explosions in the country and the attendant loss of lives and property as a great source of worry and reason why the Authority must take the issue of safety seriously.
The Asante assured Mr. Tampuli and his delegation made up of some management and board members of the NPA of his availability to offer guidance, direction and advice as and when it is needed to enable the NPA succeed.
