District Chief Executive of Kassena-Nankana West, Clement Kuyianyim Dandori has assured the public of an absolute peace in the district. According to him the security services in the district have beefed up their patrols following the terrorists attack in neighboring Burkina Faso.

At least 18 people were killed by terrorists while many wounded in Ouagadougou’s Kwame Nkrumah Avenue in Burkina Faso capital.

Although calm has been restored in the country, some residents of Paga, a border town in the Upper East region to Burkina Faso say their lives is in danger following the Sunday suspected Jihadists attack. According to them the proximity nature of Paga to Burkina Faso has a potential terrorists attack.

“After Burkina we are next so it is a worry to us. All the borders security should be tight and if they are bringing people either from Burkina Faso or Ghana, they should always check out the caliber of people coming in”

But speaking exclusively to A1 radio, Mr. Dandori assured residents and travellers of a total security in the area. “So far as Ghana is concern, there is total security. There is no cause of alarm for whoever wants to enter Ghana from Paga. I cannot guarantee that for those who want to go to Burkina but for those who want to enter Ghana through Paga or move to Paga, I want to assure them that there is maximum safety.”

Although business is ongoing as usual at the border towns of both sides of Ghana and Burkina Faso the terrorists attack repercussion caused a vehicular traffic at the border. However, at the time of filling this report measures were put in place for the vehicles to move to their destination.
