Pusiga health center to get female ward

Pusiga District Chief Executive, Abdulai Zubeiru has cut sod for the construction of a female ward for the district health center.

The facility currently accommodates male, female and children in the same ward due to lack of space.

According to the DCE, the current situation of the facility causes a lot of inconvenience to clients. He is optimistic if work on the new ward completed, it will protect the privacy of patients.

“I was here myself and saw that there were male and female patients put together in the same ward. So I took it upon myself that I will make sure that I get Pusiga health center a ward”

Mr. Zubeidu who also handed over a site for the construction of a maternity block for the Kulungungu health center admonished contractors for the two projects to complete them within 6 months to improve healthcare delivery in the district.

Pusiga District Nutrition Officer, Mavis Dery, who spoke on behalf of Pusiga district health director, said the project when completed, will reduce infection among patients and health workers.

Mrs. Dery commended the assembly for its relentless support towards healthcare delivery.
