Sandema To Get Sports Academy Soon

History beckons as Sandema, the Builsa North capital is set to see the launch of the establishment of a Sports Academy soon. The multi-purpose Project initiated by the Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi-based Sports Consortium, Authentic Sports and President of Bukarson Concepts, Listowell Yesu Bukarson will be named after his father, the late RSM Bukari Kanjaga Awaambe.

Mr. Bukarson, former Public and Supporters Relations Manager and Marketing Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club Limited says the Awaambe Sports Academy is his contribution to sports development in the three Northern Regions of Ghana specifically and Ghana at large.

The Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Joseph Yaminne and the 1978 African Footballer of the Year and onetime Kumasi Asante Kotoko Head Coach, “Golden Boy” Abdul Razak, will on Wednesday, 19th February 2014, launch the Awaambe Sports Academy in Sandema.

The Awaambe Sports Academy will concentrate on Under 12-15, Under 16-18, and Under 18-21 male and female football teams. There will also be other sporting disciplines, such as athletics, Boxing, Volleyball, and basketball. The Sandema mini-stadium will be the Awaambe Sports Academy Village.

The Academy has already received massive Support from leading foam manufactures in Ghana, Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited who are prepared to be a part of the history of the first fully Ghanaian owned Sports Academy in the three Northern Regions of Ghana.
