Ghana School Feeding Programme Coordinator suspended over National Security findings

Information reaching A1 Radio indicates that, the National Coordinator for the Ghana School Feeding Programme, Dr. Kwame Adu-Nsiah has been asked to step aside due to the discovery of what has been discribed as “fraudulent deals” under his watch.

This action come soon after the National Security had finished investigating some happenings in the running of the Programme.

A letter believed to have been signed by the Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister, Cynthia Morrison and dated December 13, 2018, accused the Ghana School Feeding Programme Coordinator, Dr. Adu-Nsiah of inflating figures of schools benefiting from the Programme.

The National Coordinator, is accused of awarding contracts to “ghost caterers” to provide catering services to non-existing schools.

The letter directed Dr. Adu-Nsiah to stop the Regional Monitoring activities and step aside to pave way for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to carry out an independent investigation into the case.

In his absence the Deputy National Coordinator will be acting.
