The District Chief Executive of Talensi, Dr. Christopher Boatbil Talensi has handed over an ultra-modern 3 Unit Classroom block purposely built for the Kindergarten pupils at the Bapelugu Community in the Talensi District, in the Upper East Region.

According to the DCE, the 3 Unit Classroom block formed part of projects being executed with the Constituency’s share of the 1 million Dollars per Constituency, as promised by the Akufo-Addo led government.

“We didn’t say we are going to put the 1 million Dollars in the pockets of people, we said we are going to use the 1 million Dollars for development projects in Talensi. I share the view of my government because, sometime when the money comes down to the local level, the possibility that people will misapply it is there.

The structure that is put up here is the same as structures that can be found in Accra or any part of the country and that is what we want to offer the people of Ghana; that is what we want to offer the people of Talensi. What students in Kumasi, Accra will benefit, student in Talensi Bupelugu should also benefit. I stand here to hand over the school to the authorities to take good care of it properly. Let’s try and make sure the children use it them accordingly.” He said.

However, he acknowledged that per his observation, as he visited some schools in Talensi district, the facilities needs furniture to learn efficiently and he is putting more effort in making sure issues of furniture became a thing of the past.

Headmistress of Bapelugu Primary, Tindan Ernestina who was very excited with the good initiative promised to put some of the equipment attached to the project in good use.

“We thank his Excellency, Nana Akufo Addo for thinking of putting this structure for us. For me, this is one of its kind in Upper East, so we are happy and we appreciate what government has done for us. I will ensure that, this facility is kept well for effective teaching and learning.” She expressed
