All is set for a state burial for the late politician and statesman, Clement Kubindiwo Tedam who died at the age of 94 in Accra.
Until he departed on April 26, 2019 the late C.K. Tedam as popularly known was the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the governing New Patriotic Party. He was a founding member of the Northern People’s Party(NPP) and contested Parliamentary election in 1956 on the ticket of this party and won. Earlier in 1954 he had won election and entered parliament as an Independent Candidate.
He was a founding member of the governing New Patriotic Party and became its National Chairman.
The late C.K Tedam will be remembered for the examplary leadership qualities displayed during his days in government and local governance.
His mortal remains arrived at Paga, his hometown in the Kessena-Nankana West District in the Upper East Region on Wednesday June 19 in a casket wrapped with the Ghana flag ahead of a state burial and funeral on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
The Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Patience Abayage accompanied by the Regional and some Constituency Executives of the New Patriotic Party as well as family heads and children of the deceased, received the body at the Paga air strip.
The needed rites have been performed and the casket containing his remains has been received into his family house at the Paga-Pio Palace for safe keeping till Saturday when the burial will be done.
The President Nana Akufo Addo and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and other members of government and the New Patriotic Party are expected to be in Paga for the state burial and funeral on Saturday.
