Only 47 out of the 54 aspirants who picked nomination forms to contest in constituency primaries in the 15 constituencies submitted their forms across the Upper East Region.

Vetting of aspirants in the region started on Thursday instead of Wednesday, July 24, and is expected to end by the close of Friday, July 26, 2019.

A1radioonline.com has gathered that, George Gamson went through the vetting to contest the Bolgatanga Central Constituency primaries against the Member of Parliament, Isaac Adongo, despite rumours of a supposed pressure by some party people to step down for Isaac Adongo to go unopposed.

For those NDC members, Isaac Adongo has become an asset to the party both at the regional and national levels and must be protected from any possible defeat.

A member of the Vetting Committee in the region, Donatus Nyaaba, in an interview said no information like that came before the committee, hence the public should disregard the rumour.

He noted that though there were some minor challenges at the beginning concerning the vetting of George Gamson, they were later resolved and he was vetted.

Mr. Nyaaba was sure that the Vetting Committee will be able to end the vetting process today, Friday, July 26, 2019 to pave way for successful aspirants to start their campaigns.
