Maverick National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC ,Sammy Gyamfi has been described as an “Ant” to the NPP.
The description follows his arrest by the Criminal Investigations Department(CID) of the Ghana Police Service for alleged involvement in cyber crime and creation of fake news.
The arrest of Sammy Gyamfi has sparked a political backlash at government for allegedly using state security apparatus to “intimidate” the NDC.
But speaking to the issue on Daybreak Upper East on A1 Radio , Deputy National Communications Director of the NPP , Richard Asante urged the public to disregard such assertions because government was concentrating on making lives better for Ghanaians and will not engage in unproductive activities.
Mr. Asante said what baffled him were commentaries from the NDC that seek to portray Sammy Gyamfi as a threat to the NPP and government’s fortunes indicating that he can not match anyone in the NPP.
