Comments made by Deputy Upper East Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Sunday Kampoli Casper to the effect that ,youth in the region intend preventing President Nana Akufo Addo from campaigning for not operationalizing a completed phase of the regional hospital,have been described as ‘useless’ and borne out of negative propaganda.
The NDC Communicator in a panel discussion on TV3 lamented that there was tension in his region following unattended calls by the President to provide funding in furnishing a completed phase of an expansion project at the Bolgatanga Hospital.
The situation according to Sunday Kampoli,has infuriated the youth in the region who are left with no option than to take the laws into their own hands by preventing any political activity ahead of elections 2020.
He stated that improved health care service in the region was a major challenge,a reason the NPP government needed to swiftly intervene by commissioning and stocking the facility constructed by former President John Mahama.
Mr. Kampoli said the failure of President Nana Akufo Addo to commission the project was the main reason he will be prevented from campaigning in the Upper East Region by the youth.
But his comments have not gone down well with a government Communicator in the Upper East Region, Wilson Dabuo who has described the comments as ‘useless’.
Mr. Dabuo opined that in as much as there were challenges that needed attention,the posture of the NDC Communicator was an indication of a self seeking political agenda which should be condemned.
He added that the comments were misleading and did not represent the general view of youths in the region but only the NDC members hence, should be disregarded.
“Who are the youth in this part of the the country ? Which meeting?which petition?which outlet of the media made a demonstration that this is actually what the people out there are saying? This is useless. He asked on Daybreak Upper.
He assured that nobody can prevent the President and NPP from campaigning in the Upper East Region because the people appreciate the developments under NPP government given them.
